(in english: e-Learning in virtual world Second Life - experiences and possibilities) Kim Holmberg ja Isto Huvila, Åbo Akademi Second Life on kolmiulotteinen synteettinen maailma, joka on saanut valtavasti huomiota oman toimivan taloutensa sekä eri organisaatioille tarjoamiensa mahdollisuuksien takia. Åbo Akademin tutkijat Holmberg ja Huvila ovat sekä tutkineet Second Lifea ja käyttäneet sitä opetuksessaan. Esitelmän aikana he kertovat kokemuksistaan ja paljastavat mitä mahdollisuuksia he näkevät Second Lifessa. VTM Kim Holmberg ja VTT Isto Huvila työskentelevät päätoimisesti tutkijoina ja opettajina Åbo Akademissa informaatiotutkimuksen oppiaineessa. Holmbergin tutkii ja opettaa hyperlinkki analyysiä, webometriikkaa, internetin ilmiöitä ja virtuaaliympäristöjä. Huvilan tutkimustyön ja opetuksen painopisteitä ovat tiedonhallinta, informaatiotyö, tiedon organisointi ja virtuaaliympäristöt. Holmberg ja Huvila ovat käyttäneet Second Life -virtuaalimaailmaa opetuksessa sekä tehneet aiheeseen liittyvää tutkimusta vuodesta 2006 lähtien.
